How Much Does A Monument Cost

Monuments and Markers Gravestones, Tombstones, and Grave markers are priced according to size, color of material used, design and installation cost, plus whatever applicable cemetery charges are involved. Prices can range from under $1,000 generally for flat markers and simple upright monuments to $10,000 and higher for more elaborate monuments. On the high end of the spectrum, large and impressive walk-in mausoleums can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.  To give you a very specific number on a product that can have so many variables is a disservice to you as a consumer.  You deserve options.  The options that you decide work for you will ultimately determine the overall price.

Pricing again, in general is difficult to determine without knowing the cemetery, section, size and color you are interested in.  All cemeteries have section regulations which determine the size, and in some cases shape and color a family is able to purchase for a memorial.  California State Law, again, allows families to purchase their memorial from whoever the family chooses.   (Monument Companies as a rule are generally are more competitive on pricing than buying directly from the cemetery.)  Once we know the cemetery, size, color and shape and fees associated with getting the memorial installed in that park we are well on our way.  The last bit of determining factors in pricing is portraits, etchings, carvings, custom painting and or simply custom design work.  Portraits range in price depending on size, and whether or not the photo is black and white or color.  Laser etchings are priced by size.  We also offer hand diamond etching which offer a more artistic textured etch are slightly more expensive than laser.  Custom painting, design work and or carvings are all priced individually as well as so many of the memorials we create tend to be unique in nature.

Having said all of that, we can work within any budget.  We have been creating and carving memorials from our local market to literally all over the world as a family business for over 113 years.  Consider what you are buying as a permanent piece of historic art.  You are respectfully and creatively memorializing a loved one’s life the way in which they deserve.  Give us a call and we can help you to begin determining exactly what kind of fitting memorial we can create for your loved one.
